WEDNESDAY Hotter and more humid weather returns as southwest flow strengthens ahead of the next cold front. Expect mostly sunny skies with highs reaching the lower to middle 90s. Southwest winds increase to around 10–15 mph, with gusts around 25 mph possible during the afternoon. Most of the daytime hours should remain dry, although shower and thunderstorm chances begin increasing later in the day. WEDNESDAY NIGHT Shower and thunderstorm chances increase as a cold front approaches and moves through central Indiana. Temperatures fall to around 70 degrees with west to southwest winds around 5–10 mph. Confidence is still somewhat limited on exact storm timing and coverage, but Wednesday night currently looks like the best opportunity for rain during the first half of the week. There is no clear signal for a widespread severe-weather event at this time. 7 DAY OUTLOOK Sunday and Labor Day provide a very pleasant break from the recent heat. Highs remain in the lower to middle 80s with significantly lower humidity, mostly sunny skies and very little rain concern. The comfortable stretch does not last long. Temperatures climb back toward 90 degrees Tuesday before reaching the lower to middle 90s Wednesday as warmer and more humid air returns. A cold front then brings the next opportunity for showers and thunderstorms Wednesday night into Thursday. Behind that front, temperatures fall sharply again Thursday and Friday. Highs should settle into the upper 70s to lower 80s with lower humidity and generally quieter weather by Friday.
