A woman was killed and another has been hospitalized in critical condition, police said, after crashing a vehicle into a pillar along Girard Avenue in West Philly early Saturday. According to police, the 25-year-old woman behind the wheel of a gray Nissan Altima was killed when the vehicle slamm ed into a concrete pillar along the 3400 block of West Girard Avenue, near the Philadelphia Zoo, at about 3:48 a.m. on Saturday. A 24-year-old woman who was a passenger in the vehicle was also hurt in the crash. Both victims, police said, were taken to a nearby hospital after the crash were the driver was pronounced at about 4:26 a.m. The passenger in the vehicle was hospitalized in critical condition, officials said.
