A firefighter was injured early Saturday as, officials said, fire crews responded to a rowhome fire where hoarding conditions hampered efforts to extinguish the flames. According to fire officials, a firefighter was hospitalized, but was expected to be okay, after responding to a fire at a rowhom e along the 1000 block of Wharton Street just after 5:30 a.m. on Saturday. Here, officials said, a fire likely started in the basement of the rowhome where firefighters encountered hoarding conditions. Everyone at the home when the fire started made it out of the property without injury, officials said. Fire officials did not immediately say how the firefighter was injured.
