(KRON) -- The San Jose Police Department announced the arrests of seven people as homicide suspects during the investigation of the city's 13th homicide of 2026. The homicide in question took place on June 28 around 9:12 p.m. when two men were shot in downtown San Jose. One of the men died at the s cene. The other survived. Over the course of the investigation, police were able to identify Izaiah Hernandez, 18, Sabastian Saldana, 34, Ezequiel Mercado, 20, Nevaeh Luna-Rosales, 18, Jaden Diaz-Mejia, 18, Fabian Diaz-Gomez, 18, Johnny Picazo, 36, and a 17-year-old male, as suspects involved in the incident. Police arrested all seven suspects Wednesday. Hernandez, Mercado, Diaz-Mejia, Diaz-Gomez and Picazo were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for murder, according to police. The juvenile suspect was booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall for murder. Saldana and Luna-Rosales were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for crimes related to accessory after the fact. The investigation is ongoing. ...read more read less
