A female suspect was arrested after shooting at an officer in Richmond Thursday evening, the police department said. Police said the Contra Costa County’s behavioral health crisis response program responded to a mental health check request on a person in the 2200 block of Key Boulevard at aroun d 6:40 p.m. According to authorities, the first officer who arrived at the scene was shot. The officer was then taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. The police department said the suspect barricaded himself inside the home and continued firing multiple rounds from within the home. Several rounds struck a Richmond police patrol vehicle and neighboring homes, but no residents nor additional personnel were injured.
