The ceremony
honoring Meyer will take place at Stanford's home match against the University of Southern California, which is taking place during the team's Mental Health Awareness Week. Meyer was a standout goalkeeper with the team.
According to her family, Meyer took her own life in 2022 after she received a formal warning from the university and became depressed. Following her passing, Meyer's parents have worked to take "Katie Meyer's Law" to Congress in an effort to provide advisors to students facing disciplinary issues.
