SAN JOSE, Calif. (KRON) -- Police in San Jose are investigating a shooting late Wednesday night that left a man dead. The gunman remains at large, according to authorities. The San Jose Police Department was alerted at 11:02 p.m. to a reported shooting near Stockton Avenue and Taylor Street. Arrivi ng officers found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. He later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The SJPD Homicide Unit responded and is now investigating the incident. The suspected shooter fled the scene before officers arrived, SJPD said. The motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation, police said.
