RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A Virginia Democratic Party official will spend 10 years behind bars for distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Court records show 31-year-old Randon Alexander Sprinkle messaged an undercover FBI agent on the online dating application Jack’d under the alias “Randy," according to the Department of Justice (DOJ). The department said that Sprinkle sent a video depicting two adults sexually abusing a child. He also expressed an interest in traveling to Washington, D.C., to meet another user and sexually abuse that person’s son. Federal agents executed a search warrant at his home on Oct. 16, 2025, seizing three electronic devices: two laptops and a cellphone. His cellphone contained 43 CSAM files, and one of the laptops contained two additional files, the DOJ said. The files included depictions of the abuse of toddler-aged children, according to the department. Lindsey Halligan, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, said in January 2026 that “the allegations in this case are deeply disturbing and reflect a serious abuse of trust." Sprinkle -- who was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Thursday, Sept. 3 -- was elected this year to the Metro Richmond Young Democrats executive board, according to the Virginia Public Access Project. He previously pleaded not guilty in the Richmond federal courthouse on Monday, Jan. 12. He was charged with one count of distributing CSAM.
