9-3-26-Brett Butler + Ida Part 1 INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The 72nd annual Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals returns to Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park over Labor Day weekend, bringing Top Fuel drag racing and a new cocktail experience to the Indianapolis area. Swedish Top Fuel dri ver Ida Zetterström returns to competition Sept. 4-7 with primary sponsorship from Bandero Premium Tequila. As part of the partnership, Zetterström teamed up with Indianapolis mixologist Brett Butler and his mobile cocktail service, Alcomy LLC, to create a fan experience combining Mexican-inspired cocktails with drag racing. Butler will serve two signature Bandero cocktails during the event: the Banderita and Cafe Carajillo. The Banderita 2 oz Bandero Blanco Tequila 0.75 oz Cointreau 1 oz Tres Agaves Organic Agave Nectar 2 oz Housemade Sour Mix 2 Jalapeño slices 4 Cucumber slices 4 Basil leaves Muddle jalapeño, cucumber, sour mix and basil in a mixing tin. Add remaining ingredients and ice. Shake until well chilled and emulsified. Double strain over ice into a large double rocks glass. Garnish with fresh basil and lime. The Banderita combines Bandero Blanco Tequila, Cointreau, agave nectar, sour mix, jalapeño, cucumber and basil. The Cafe Carajillo features Bandero Cafe, Licor 43, horchata liqueur and espresso or cold brew, finished with cinnamon. Cafe Carajillo 1 oz Bandero Cafe 0.50 oz Licor 43 0.50 oz Horchata Liqueur 2 oz Fresh Espresso or Cold Brew Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until well chilled and frothy. Strain over a large rock of ice into a rocks glass. Garnish with sprinkled cinnamon and cinnamon stick. 9-3-26-Brett Butler + Ida Part 2 The U.S. Nationals, known as “The Big Go,” is one of the most prestigious events on the NHRA schedule. Top Fuel dragsters can reach more than 330 mph in less than four seconds. Zetterström began racing Junior Dragsters in Sweden at age 8 and became the FIA European Top Fuel champion in 2023. She will pilot the Bandero Tequila Top Fuel dragster during the U.S. Nationals. Bandero will also sponsor Funny Car driver Alexis DeJoria, marking the brand’s first sponsorship of entries in both premier nitro categories. The six-day U.S. Nationals runs through Sept. 7, with Top Fuel qualifying Thursday through Saturday and eliminations on Labor Day Monday.
