9-3-26-Gus Macker Tourney INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament returns to the Pacers Athletic Center Oct. 3-4, bringing basketball players together to support cancer research at Indiana University Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center. Sponsored by Republic Airways, the tournament will feature 3-on-3 games for players age 8 and older. Teams of four can compete, and all skill levels are welcome. The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days at the Pacers Athletic Center, 200 E. 186th St. in Westfield. Tournament details Cost: $200 per team Spectators: Free Age: 8 and older Format: Four-player teams competing in 3-on-3 games Additional events: Slam dunk contest with cash prizes and local celebrity appearances The tournament supports cancer research at the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center, Indiana’s only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center. More than 350 cancer investigators work at the center on research aimed at improving cancer treatments and patient care. The Pacers Athletic Center’s eight indoor courts will host games throughout the weekend, creating opportunities for experienced players and newcomers to compete. Volunteers are also needed for event operations, including setup and scorekeeping. Teams can register at Gus Macker Indianapolis.
