Update: Southern Tier placed under a tornado watch Wednesday night

At 10:12 p.m. on Wednesday, the National Weather Service released an updated tornado watch in effect until 11 p.m. for Broome, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga and Tompkins counties.
