Flash flood warning issued for Allegany and Cattaraugus counties until early Thursday triggered by thunderstorms

The National Weather Service released a flash flood warning at 8:46 p.m. on Wednesday in effect until Thursday at 12:45 a.m. for Allegany and Cattaraugus counties."At 8:46 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly," explains the weather service.
