Breeze Airways will add nonstop flights from New Orleans to Louisville, beginning in October, with service twice a week. The airline also plans to add nonstop service to Phoenix beginning in February 2027, also twice weekly. Frontier Airlines will add nonstop service from New Orleans to Tampa, beginning in November, with flights three times a week. The new routes continue a period of expanded carrier activity at MSY from both airline carriers. Frontier increased its New Orleans service this summer after Spirit Airlines ceased operations May 2, adding nonstop flights to Denver four times a week and Philadelphia three times a week. The airline also expanded Dallas-Fort Worth service from four times a week to daily, while continuing daily service to Atlanta and Orlando. Twice-weekly service to Las Vegas was scheduled to begin in September. Breeze has also continued to grow its New Orleans footprint. The airline launched service at MSY in 2021 and later made New Orleans one of its crew bases. In February, Breeze announced its first international route from New Orleans, with service between MSY and Cancun. Over the past year, Breeze has launched nonstop flights from New Orleans to Charleston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Myrtle Beach, Savannah, and Tampa.
