INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — For the first time in his 13-year NFL career, veteran wide receiver and first-year member of the Indianapolis Colts, Keenan Allen, will no longer wear No. 13. Instead, the number belongs to third-year Colts receiver Laquon Treadwell, who wore the number last season. Tr eadwell said he’s had conversations with Allen about possibly changing numbers, but Treadwell confirmed Wednesday that he will be keeping his number. “Me and Keenan [Allen] spoke probably three times already,” Treadwell said. “He was just like, he’s not really worried about it and like I told him, I respect the game. I know what you did in your number. Me and my family did a lot of praying about it as well, so he was cool with me keeping the number, and we spoke briefly about it like I said a couple times, and we went forward from there.” Treadwell has already switched numbers twice since joining the Colts in 2024. He opened with No. 7, but moved to No. 17 after cornerback Charvarius Ward signed in March 2025 and reclaimed the number he’d worn the previous three seasons with the 49ers. No. 17 didn’t last long, either, once quarterback Daniel Jones and his signature No. 17 arrived in the same free agency period. In his third year with Indy and now his second season with No. 13, Treadwell has really embraced his number and would like to keep it this time around. “Initially, I came here I was in [No.] 7,” Treadwell said. “Charvarius [Ward] came, then DJ [Daniel Jones] came, I was in [No.] 17 then Keenan comes, so I’ve been switching numbers a lot. Last year, I really grew to like [No.] 13; I was playing well in it. Just everything about my family — we’ve been falling in love with the number and just seeing me out there making plays. I’m having a great camp in it, so I just didn’t want to stop that momentum.” Keenan Allen will instead switch to No. 10 this season, and Treadwell will keep No. 13 for the 2026-2027 season. Allen signed with the Colts on August 17 after playing 17 games with the Chargers last season, amassing 81 catches for 777 yards and four touchdowns. The 34-year-old has reached at least 1,000 yards six times in his career. Allen has 12,051 career receiving yards, 70 total touchdowns, and 1,055 career receptions.
