INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Hawaiian Bros Island Grill has opened its first physical restaurant in Indianapolis. The new location at 7910 S. U.S. 31 in the Greenwood Place Shopping Center sits on the south side of Indianapolis near the Johnson County city of Greenwood and the Marion County town of Southport. The brand already serves downtown Indianapolis and the near-north side with carryout and delivery from the Circle City Eats facility, 1021 N. Pennsylvania St. The restaurant chain sells what’s described as “island-inspired” plates featuring chicken, pork, Spam or vegetables glazed with sweet, savory or spicy sauces. Every plate includes sides of macaroni salad and steamed white rice. For dessert, the menu offers tropical Dole Soft Serve, perhaps more widely known as Dole Whip. Meal prices generally range from $10 to $16. The kitchen prides itself on not using use fryers, microwaves or freezers. The south-side restaurant’s hours are 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, and 11 a.m.-midnight Thursday through Saturday. Its grand opening will be at 11 a.m. Sept. 12. The first 100 customers will receive a free T-shirt and a gift card ranging from $25 to $500, and one guest will win free Hawaiian Bros for a year. Hawaiian Bros Island Grill will next open a physical restaurant in Noblesville’s Promenade of Noblesville development near the Meijer store at State Road 32 and Little Chicago Road. Hawaiian Bros has nearly 100 locations in 14 states. ...read more read less
