BATON ROUGE mdash; ConnectLA's BEAD initiative, which aims to build out Louisiana's broadband network, will finish construction on nearly 15,000 broadband serviceable locations by early 2027.nbsp;Across 23 parishes, nearly 1,800 miles of fiber are being deployed to help Louisiana create more robust internet infrastructure, ConnectLA says.nbsp;The initiative's ultimate goal is statewide broadband access by 2028.nbsp;In East Baton Rouge, Livingston, St. John the Baptist parishes, REV has connected 2,434 broadband serviceable locations, and in Avoyelles, Iberville, Pointe Coupee and West Baton Rouge parishes, Star has connected 302 broadband serviceable locations.The state's GUMBO 2.0 grant program has allocated more than $1.36 billion in BEAD funding to connect remaining locations across the state that still lack reliable access.Permalink| Comments ...read more read less
