Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded on Aug. 16, at 9:49 a.m., to reports of a vehicle fire near the 9700 Block of Hammocks Boulevard. Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from an unoccupied, parked van. Firefighters utilized hydraulic tools to gain access to the vehicle and deployed a hose line to work on extinguishing the flames, while preventing the fire from spreading to a nearby police patrol vehicle and surrounding trees.
