Detectives in Jersey City’s East District are asking the public for help locating a vulnerable senior who was last seen nearly a week ago. Ramon Contreras was last seen Aug. 25 near 123 Erie Street, near Hamilton Park Area, at around 4 pm. Contreras, 76 or 77, is described as a dark-skinned La tino man with brown eyes who weighs 135-150 lbs. and is about 5’4″. At the time he went missing, Contreras was wearing brown pants, a bright red t-shirt with no lettering, a dark blue baseball cap, black socks, and blue mesh sneakers with white soles. Contreras speaks and understands English, but he has dementia and may be confused or disoriented, his family reported. Contreras arrived in Jersey City on Aug. 23 for a short visit with family, according to a Facebook post from his niece, and he has gone missing before. The last time he went missing he was found in the South District in the vicinity of Armstrong Avenue.
