Five people were hospitalized early Monday after, officials said, a house fire in the Oxford Circle section of Northeast Philly. On Monday morning, at about 5:30 a.m., crews responded to a fire reported along the 6600 block of Horrocks Street in Philly’s Oxford Circle neighborhood, officials sa id. Prior to the firefighters’ arrival, officials said, four people were removed from a back bedroom at the homy by neighbors who put a ladder against a window. As crews worked to extinguish the flames, officials said, another individual was pulled from the home. All five victims were taken to a nearby hospital where, officials said four were stable after being treated for smoke inhalation and another was listed in critical condition.
