A total of 297 pets found their fur-ever homes during NBC 7 and Telemundo 20’s annual Clear the Shelters adoption event with San Diego Humane Society on Saturday, the shelter announced. This figure surpassed last year’s number of 288 animals adopted. All kinds of animals, including dogs, c ats, rabbits, guinea pigs and even mice, were adopted during this year’s event, where all adoption fees were waived. The shelter said across their four campus locations, they adopted out 108 dogs, 17 puppies, 62 cats, 80 kittens, 7 rabbits, 2 chinchillas, 4 Guinea pigs, 2 birds, 6 fowl, 6 reptiles and 3 rodents. The campaign is part of a month-long pet adoption partnership with NBC 7 and Telemundo 20. The adoption hours began at 10 a.m. and ended at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
