HAMMOND mdash; A convicted felon is back in jail after a multi-agency compliance check led to the discovery of multiple weapons and drugs at a Hammond area home, according to authorities.Anthony Thomas, 28, was booked on two counts each of possessing weapons while in possession of controlled danger ous substances and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. He also faces single counts of possessing Schedule II narcotics, illegally possessing a stolen firearm, possessing drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, obstructing justice and violating parole.Earlier this week, the Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole connected with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office and Hammond Police to conduct a compliance check on Thomas. He had previously served time for aggravated assault with a firearm and illegal use of weapons.Thomas was arrested during the compliance check for a parole violation, which then led to a further investigation. Narcotics divisions and street crimes teams from both agencies executed a search warrant at a home off Airport Road in the Hammond area.Inside the home, authorities found three pistols, three AR-style pistols and the ammunition and accessories for them, along with marijuana and illegally obtained prescription pills. A 22-year-old man who was also at the home was arrested on several drug-related charges.Sheriff Gerald Sticker said he wanted to commend the collaborative effort with partners at the Department of Probation and Parole and Hammond Police for getting Thomas back behind bars.Permalink| Comments ...read more read less
