Two men were injured, one critically, after an argument escalated into a shooting overnight in Philadelphia, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. Police said two scenes were identified in connection with the shooting — one on the 2700 block of West Westmoreland Street and another at Broad and Cayuga streets. According to officials, at approximately 11:40 p.m. on Aug. 28, officers responded to a call about a person with a gun on West Westmoreland Street. When they arrived, officers found ballistic evidence and a blood trail, and secured the scene for further investigation. A short time later, police said they received another call regarding a crash at Broad and Cayuga streets. SEPTA Police officers responded and found a 40-year-old man in the driver’s seat of a 2011 Audi A8L suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, officials said. Officers transported the victim to Temple University Hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition. Police said a second victim, a 42-year-old man, later walked into Temple University Hospital and reported that he and the first victim had gone to the location after receiving a phone call about an altercation. The second victim told police that after they arrived and got out of the Audi, an unknown individual began shooting at them. The first victim drove away, while the second victim fled on foot. Police said the preliminary motive is believed to be an argument. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
