REMINGTON, Ind. (WRTV) A passenger in an SUV died after it collided with a pickup Thursday afternoon in western White County, the Indiana State Police said in a Friday night news release.A state police crash team has not yet co mpleted its investigation of the collision that happened shortly before 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of County Road 1100 West and Division Road in rural Remington. The rural crossing is about a mile southeast of the town of 1,400 residents that sits along I-65 at U.S. 231, about a 90-minute drive northwest of downtown Indianapolis.Investigators said a 2026 Jeep Compass was traveling north on County Road 1100 West while a 2025 Ford F-350 was traveling west on Division Road. Traffic heading north on County Road 1100 West has a stop sign, but traffic on Division Road does not. State police said the Jeep drove into the path of the Ford, and the truck hit the SUV.The release said, "All three occupants of the Jeep were transported to area hospitals in Lafayette. One passenger was pronounced deceased at a local hospital."Two people in the Ford were also taken to area hospitals.The Tippecanoe County coroner will identify the person who died and notify the next of kin.The release did not name other people in the crash. ...read more read less
