Pet lovers rejoice! On Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026, dozens of rescues and shelters in the Philadelphia region will help animals find forever homes by waiving or reducing their adoption fees as part of the annual Clear the Shelters campaign. Since the nationwide campaign kicked off in 2015, more tha n 1.4 million pets have been adopted. Last year in the Philadelphia area alone, more than 7,900 animals found their forever homes. So far during this year’s campaign – which launched on Aug. 1 — over 4,000 animals in the Philadelphia area and more than 68,000 animals nationwide have been adopted.
