Courtesy of Connoisseur Media Lincoln.LINCOLN–(KFOR Aug. 28)–Lancaster County Election Commissioner Todd Wiltgen on Friday announced that his office completed its review of the petition signatures for the Consent of the Governed Charter Amendment submitted by Good Government Lincoln. That amendm ent proposes allowing residents living immediately outside of Lincoln’s city limits to participate in municipal elections. The election commission reviewed 469 petition pages of the 564 total pages that had been submitted to the Lincoln City Clerk. Of the 7,673 petition lines reviewed, 5,583 signatures were found to be valid. The Election Commissioner’s Office has certified the signature threshold and returned all the petition pages to the Lincoln City Clerk. Anyone with questions about the signature verification process should contact the Election Commissioner’s Office at (402) 441-7311. Wiltgen says in a news release to KFOR that other questions should be directed to either the Lincoln City Clerk or Lincoln City Council.   ...read more read less
