COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s basketball head coach Dawn Staley announced that Brooke Quarles Daniels (Macomb, Mich./Michigan/L’Anse Creuse North) will join the Gamecocks for the 2026-27 academic year. “Brooke’s wealth of experience will help us right away, as will her combinati on of skill and toughness,” Staley said. “She is a proven winner and a high-level competitor who will bring immediate value to our team.” A 5-foot-7 guard, Daniels spent the past two seasons at Michigan, earning Big Ten All-Defensive honors in 2026 after ranking second in the league with 2.4 steals per game. Predominantly a starter as a senior, her two seasons in Ann Arbor yielded 5.1 points, 1.9 assists and 2.1 steals per game to go with her 1.7 assist-to-turnover ratio. The Wolverines reached the NCAA Tournament in both of her seasons, including a run to the Elite Eight in 2026. Prior to Michigan, Daniels was a standout at Oakland, capturing All-Horizon Leage Second Team status both seasons. Oakland’s first Horizon League Freshman of the Year (2023) was also the only freshman to earn a spot on the league’s all-conference team that season. She followed that effort with a sophomore season that saw her lead the team in points (13.6 ppg), rebounds (6.6 rpg) and assists (3.0 apg) per game as a sophomore. Her two seasons with the Golden Grizzlies yielded 12.8 points, 2.9 assist and 2.2 steals per game. Daniels joins freshmen Kelsi Andrews (Hazel Green, AL/IMG Academy), Oliviyah Edwards (Tacoma, Wash./Lincoln), Justine Loubens (L’Isle Jourdain, France), Jerzy Robinson (Chatsworth, CA/Sierra Canyon) and Kaeli Wynn (Santa Ana, CA/Mater Dei) and junior transfer Jordan Lee (Stockton, Calif./Texas) as the additions to the Gamecocks’ 2026-27 roster.
