A wildfire in the Dallas County city of Wilmer burned about 65 acres before more than a dozen agencies from around the county got it under control. The Wilmer Fire Dept. said there were no injuries reported, and they still have not determined the cause. Dallas Fire-Rescue, Dallas County Fire a nd Sheriffs, Hutchins, Bristol, Combine, Ferris, Red Oak, Ennis, Palmer, Seagoville, and Crandal all assisted in the operation. The fire burned near the Patrick Baptist Church in Ferris on Parkinson Rd. Pastor Tyler Poole provided video from near the fire. Pastor Poole and his family were safely evacuated along with their church cat, Mango. Dallas County Sheriff’s provided the photos below.
