Detectives were investigating a reported battery after a man allegedly grabbed a female hotel employee in the parking lot of the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, authorities said Wednesday Deputies responded shortly after noon Tuesday to the hotel in the 5900 block of Linea Del Cielo, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators said an unidentified man approached the worker, grabbed her arm and she managed to pull away and run inside to call for help. Deputies searched the surrounding area with support from the sheriff’s ASTREA helicopter, but were unable to locate the suspect, the agency said. Authorities described the suspect as a 60-year-old man with white hair. He was last seen wearing a light blue polo shirt and khaki shorts. Sheriff’s officials said the incident appears to be isolated, with no indication of an ongoing public threat.
