Promontory HOMES, the a private mountain community’s in-house homebuilder, has received a 2026 Gold Nugget Award for its Picasso model. The Picasso model was recognized as the Best Single Family Detached Home (2,500 to 3,000 square feet) during the 63rd Gold Nugget Awards ceremony on July 29 i n Chula Vista, California. Presented by the California Building Industry Association and PCBC, the Gold Nugget Awards are the nation’s oldest design awards. They honor architectural design, planning, and community development excellence across North America. “We are thrilled to be recognized with this award for the Picasso model and for the ease of mountain living it brings,” said Scott Ilizaliturri, president of Promontory HOMES. “Due to its manageable size and professionally curated finishes, we are able to reduce the delivery time and streamline the homebuilding process so that after a single design meeting with the Promontory HOMES design and construction team, options and upgrades are finalized and plans are generated.” Designed by Dale Ayers, Design Architect for Promontory and BSB Designs and built by Promontory HOMES, the 2,800-square-foot Picasso residence seeks to balance a compact footprint with a modern feel for luxury mountain living. It features four en suite bedrooms, open-concept living spaces with vaulted ceilings and indoor-outdoor connections designed for mountain views. Promontory HOMES began construction of the Picasso model in 2025, with the first home built and delivered in early 2026.
