Wasatch Adaptive Sports, in partnership with Woodward Park City and the Utah Adaptive Alliance, has announced it will hold Wheelfest 2026, an inclusive celebration of movement on wheels formerly known as Wheelchair Palooza, in Park City on Sept. 12. The expanded event will take over the entire Woodward Park City campus and bring together adaptive athletes, mountain bikers, wheelchair athletes, skateboarders, scooter riders, families and community partners for a day of action sports, competitions and live entertainment. The event will be the finale to the Wasatch Adaptive Sports Pedal With Purpose Challenge. All proceeds from the event directly benefit Wasatch Adaptive Sports. The event is free, but organizers requested attendees register in advance. Wheelfest expands the event across Woodward’s indoor and outdoor facilities and provides programming and viewing opportunities for riders and spectators of all ages and abilities. Event highlights include: Open skatepark sessions, athlete demonstrations and opportunities for adaptive athletes to ride together throughout the day. Pro athlete demos: Watch professional wheelchair motocross athlete Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham and Kyle Marchant perform demonstrations in Central Plaza and on the Woodward Mega Ramp. Adaptive mountain biking opportunities, fun riding challenges and skill-building activities. Downhill mountain bike race: High-energy racing will be open to all participants, including youth and adaptive riders. Red Bull Mountain Bike Whip-Off: Riders throw their biggest and most stylish whips. Mountain bike best trick competition, featuring a cash prize to be determined later. Youth and open ride sessions: Dedicated Strider sessions for kids ages 6 and under alongside open skateboard and scooter sessions across indoor and outdoor skateparks. Vendor Village and live music: Attendees can explore bike brands and demos, adaptive sports organizations, food trucks, giveaways, games, interactive activities, and live music from 6-8 p.m., culminating in an official Awards Ceremony at 8 p.m. Wheelfest is free and open to the public.
