Aug 26, 2026
A woman in Montgomery County called police from a locked bathroom, where she hid with her children, after a man broke into her home on Monday afternoon, officials claim.
According to police, Juan Medina was arrested after he broke into a home along the 2900 block of Arch Road in Plymouth Townshi
p at about 1:45 p.m. on Monday.
The woman who owns the home called police as the break-in was in progress, according to investigators.
The woman told dispatchers that a man — later identified by police as Medina — was banging on a side entrance to the home and was attempting to break in.
While still on the phone with police dispatch, the woman said Medina had broken into the home and was in her kitchen, according to investigators.
She then locked herself and her children in an upstairs bathroom awaiting police arrival, officials said.
Police said they found Medina exiting a side door of the home when they arrived at the scene. They also said he was in possession of an item from another home along the 3000 block of Arch Road.
He was taken into custody, officials said, without further incident. He has been charged with burglary, criminal trespass and related offenses.
Medina is being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility as he awaits a preliminary hearing scheduled for Sept. 8, 2026.
Police are asking anyone who lives in the area near the home targeted in this incident to review any surveillance cameras that may be on their property and send any footage that could help the investigation into these crimes to the Plymouth Township Police Department.
