DA Krasner spotlights 9 fugitives wanted in Northwest, South Philly homicides

District Attorney Larry Krasner and law enforcement partners held a news conference Wednesday morning to highlight nine homicide suspects who remain fugitives and ask for the public’s help finding them.
According to officials, the nine fugitives are wanted in connection with homicides committed
in Northwest and South Philadelphia since 2020. All of the victims were killed in shootings, Krasner said.

According to Staff Inspector Ernest Ransom, the commanding officer of the Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit, there are 42 people with active fugitive arrest warrants in Philadelphia, including the nine highlighted Wednesday.
“As a community, we have to bring these individuals to justice. If you see something, say something,” Ransom said.
Here’s a breakdown of each case highlighted during Wednesday’s news conference:
Christopher Coward
Christopher Coward is sought in the murder of 38-year-old Kenneth Singleton, who was killed inside a bar in Philadelphia’s East Mount Airy neighborhood on May 4, 2026.
Isaac King-Payton
Isaac King-Payton is wanted in connection with the murder of Tommere Coker-Ruffin, who was found shot inside a Nissan Maxima on Feb. 2, 2024, on East Locust Avenue.
Jacque Houston
Jacque Houston is wanted in connection with the murder of his father, Michael Houston, on March 8, 2023.
According to police, Michael Houston was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on South Dover Street.
Officials said they believe Jacque Houston intervened in an argument between his father and his mother that escalated into a fight outside the residence, and then into the shooting.
Jahylin Melcher
Jahylin Melcher is wanted in connection with three shootings, two of which were deadly, in Philadelphia’s Hunting Park community earlier this year.
The three incidents, officials said, happened between Friday, May 29, 2026, and Saturday, June 20, 2026.
According to prosecutors, Melcher targeted his victims because they were part of the LGBTQ+ community.
Leshaun Spruell
Leshaun Spruell is sought in connection with the murder of a 42-year-old man who was shot to death on West Clementine Street on Aug. 2, 2026.
Michael Reaves
Michael Reaves is wanted in the murder of Khalil Ford on Sept. 24, 2025.
Robert Laurie
Robert Laurie is wanted for fatally shooting a 19-year-old man multiple times during an argument on West Queen Lane in November 2020, Krasner said.
Shariff Perry
Shariff Perry is wanted in connection with a double shooting that killed 61-year-old Michelle Wilson and injured her 67-year-old husband on Aug. 9, 2026, on North 24th Street.
According to prosecutors, they believe this shooting was targeted and was a result of retaliation.
Officials said the couple’s son had been recently arrested in the murder of Perry’s brother.
Abdul Hines
Abdul Hines was arrested in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred on May 31, 2026.

The news conference was held a day after the man accused of harassing, chasing and threatening people while wearing a mask near City Hall was arrested in Las Vegas.
“Who’s scared now? The running didn’t work,” Krasner said.
Krasner used Zymire Hughes’ arrest as an example of the importance of reporting tips to law enforcement and credited the public with helping authorities apprehend him.
