I would like to give a “shame” out to the women I encountered on my daily walk along the Willow Creek Trail. She and her two friends were having a cheery morning walk with their large dogs who were enjoying, violating, the off-leash policy. As I approached the group, one of their dogs fel t it convenient to drop a huge load in the weeds next to the trail. As the dog owner looked at me and smiled, I asked, “Do you need to borrow a bag?” The women replied, “For what”? I replied, “It is the policy and a courtesy for owners to pick up after their pets” She replied, “I thought this was one with nature.” I stated it was not only the law, but a courtesy to others to control and pick up after your animals. She closed the conversation by stating that she could not go into the weeds to clean up after her dog and walked on with her friends and her off-lease dogs. To my fellow neighbors and guests enjoying this great amenity, let’s show a bit of courtesy. Keep your dogs under control and please, clean up after them.
