Kokua Line: Is email about expired passport for real?

Question: I just received an email supposedly from U.S. Customs and Border Protection notifying me that my passport on my Global Entry account has expired and I need to update my account. I recently renewed my passport. Is this legit? Or is it a scam? Please advise.
