INDIANAPOLIS (WRTV) The Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence has new resources to help community members support survivors of domestic abuse, a news release said.The free Grassroots Supports Learning Series and an accomp anying report were designed to provide tools for friends, family and coworkers to safely listen to survivors and connect them with help.Zachary Anderson, a program coordinator for the coalition, said the resources help people respond appropriately and recognize when a survivor needs professional help.Laura Berry, executive director of coalition, said survivors and community members have long worked together to reduce isolation. She noted that these new tools can provide practical, compassionate ways to connect people with resources when they need them most.The program includes interviews and guides to help neighbors and faith leaders recognize abuse. Organizers say the initiative complements professional services.The launch comes as Indiana recorded 83 domestic violence-related deaths in the 2024-25 data cycle amid $6 million cut in federal funding and a $24 million cut statewide for crime victim programs. ...read more read less
