A man died in the hospital after being shot in South Jersey on Friday evening, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office. Officers with the Lawnside Police Department were called to the unit block of West Hodges Avenue around 5:50 p.m. on Aug. 21, 2026, for a reported shooting, offici als said. When the officers got to the scene, they learned that 25-year-old George Rivera had been shot and then taken to a nearby hospital by a private vehicle, police reported. Rivera was pronounced dead in the hospital around 11:27 p.m., officials said. No arrests have been made yet and officials are still investigating.
