ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says that a long-term narcotics investigation ended on Friday. Kenneth Clark, 37, was taken into custody early Friday, August 21, after investigators executed a search warrant at a home. Investigators recovered five pounds of marijuana, 65 ecstasy pills, more than $5,500 in cash, an AK-platform rifle, two shotguns, a Glock pistol and ammunition for each weapon, according to the sheriff’s office. “We are talking about a drug operation running in the heart of a neighborhood, in plain view of this agency, with families living on every side of it,” Ravenell said. “Children were sleeping a few feet from a stockpile of narcotics and high-powered weapons. That is what makes this one different, and that is why we would not let it go.” Also, a Chevrolet Silverado was towed from the property. Clark is charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute ecstasy. And he was released on a $20,000 cash or surety bond. A woman at the home was charged with simple possession of marijuana. Categories: Local News, Orangeburg Tags: Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office ...read more read less
