WASHINGTON D.C. (WISH) — Alex Palou’s magical season continued on Saturday in our nation’s capital. The Chip Ganassi Racing driver won the pole for Sunday’s Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington D.C. Palou’s pole lap on the 1.7-mile street circuit was 56.8993 seconds (107.558 mp h). It’s his seventh pole this IndyCar season. Andretti Global’s Kyle Kirkwood will start alongside Palou on row one. It’s fitting that Palou and Kirkwood are starting up front in the race because those two drivers are the top two drivers in the standings this season. Palou leads Kirkwood by 133 points.
