A 72-year-old McCreary County substitute teacher was terminated from his position by the school board after he was accused of bringing a knife onto school property, according to Kentucky State Police (KSP).According to a press r elease, KSP Post 11 was contacted by the McCreary County School Board of Education in regards to a complaint that a substitute teacher had allegedly brought a knife onto school property.A preliminary investigation by troopers determined that on Thursday, Aug. 13, 72-year-old Gilbert Irvin of Whitley City allegedly brought a knife onto school grounds, according to KSP. Irvin was not believed to be a threat to the students, but his employment was still terminated by the school board.As a result of the alleged incident, an arrest warrant was issued against Irvin.
