A pedestrian died early Saturday after being hit by an SUV in Philadelphia’s Logan neighborhood, according to police. At approximately 1:50 a.m., officers responded to the deadly crash at North 20th Street and Belfield Avenue. According to police, a 41-year-old man driving a white 2018 Jeep Cherokee was traveling southbound on 20th Street and attempting to go around a stopped vehicle when a 36-year-old man stepped into the roadway and was struck by the SUV. The pedestrian was transported to Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia in critical condition, where he died shortly after, officials said. Police did not identify the pedestrian.
