Roadwork to impact drivers in Philadelphia, Montgomery counties next week

Crews with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will be working on resurfacing operations next week on five state highways in Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.
On Friday, PennDOT announced the upcoming work, which is part of a larger effort to repair, resurface and improve
more than 240 miles of state highways across the five-county region.
Most resurfacing operations will begin Monday, Aug. 24, and end Friday, Aug. 28, except for one project scheduled from Friday, Aug. 28, through Thursday, Sept. 4.
Here’s the full list of travel restrictions:
Montgomery County
Monday, Aug. 24, through Friday, Aug. 28, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Church Road between Township Line Road and Route 73 (Washington Lane) in Cheltenham Township for paving.
Monday, Aug. 24, through Friday, Aug. 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Ashbourne Road/Montgomery Avenue/Central Avenue between Washington Lane and Route 73 (Cottman Avenue) in Cheltenham Township for utility adjustments and milling.
Philadelphia County
Monday, Aug. 24, through Friday, August 28, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on Girard Avenue between Lancaster Avenue and Lansdowne Drive for milling.
Tuesday, Aug. 25, through Friday, Aug. 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on Girard Avenue between Lancaster Avenue and Lansdowne Drive for utility adjustments.
Monday, Aug. 24, through Friday, Aug. 28, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on Berkley Street/Roberts Avenue between Germantown Avenue and Henry Avenue for milling.
Friday, Aug. 28, through Thursday, Sept. 4, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on Ridge Avenue between Hunting Park Avenue and Spring Garden Street for milling.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays are expected.
