cs were sent to Devere Fair Stadium at 9:34 p.m. Friday after people reported a possible shooter. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called the scene a short time later.Video from the end of the game showed Avon players abruptly leaving the sidelines while the Decatur Central crowd rushed from the stands.Near the end of the Decatur Central vs. Avon football game on August 21, 2026, emergency personnel responded to an isolated spectator medical incident, said Emily LeMay, the director of student and family engagement for Decatur Township Schools, in a statement to Circle City Broadcasting. Reports circulated of a potential weapon on site. No weapons were found and no shots were fired. Police responded immediately and no injuries beyond the isolated medical emergency have been reported.Superintendent Scott Collins said an Avon spectator had a seizure and fell to the ground, leading to the panic.School officials and IMPD are still investigating the incident, LeMay said.IMPD has not yet commented on the incident.Avon won the game, the first of the new season, 31-6.
