The Sweetwater Valley Little League lost their first game at the Little League World Series one-nothing to Iowa Friday morning. This is a double-elimination series, so Sweetwater Valley has another chance to get back in the game, but they do have to win every game from here on out. Sweetwater Val ley plays again on Saturday afternoon. The team has a big fanbase at home, as many showed up at 3N1 Sports Bar in Chula Vista early Friday to show their support. “It’s been a long time coming for Sweetwater. We have the talent every single year. It’s good to see this team do it, and we call ourselves a community for a reason; we call ourselves a family for a reason. It’s the culture,” said David Sisneros, a dad and coach for Sweetwater Valley. Sweetwater Valley became the first San Diego County team to qualify for the World Series since 2016 and 13th all-time when it defeated the all-star team from Hawaii’s Kawaihau Community Little League, 11-3, in the West Region Championship Game Friday night in San Bernardino, scoring the first five runs and the final six.
