THORNTON, Colo. One person is dead and another injured in an early-morning shooting that has forced the closure of a portion of Colorado Boulevard.Thornton police said the roadway is shut down from East 100th Avenue to Thornton Parkway and will remain closed for an extended period.Police said there were two people found shot inside a vehicle which had crashed into a pole. One male died at the scene and another shooting victim, a female, was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to a Thornton police spokesperson. RTD N-Line strikes Thornton PD truck at scene of deadly shootingA secondary situation also developed in the same area involving RTD's N Line near 100th Avenue.RTD told Denver7 the N Line train struck an unoccupied Thornton police truck at the 100th Avenue Crossing at around 6:40 a.m. There were 70 customers on board the train, according to RTD, which added that there were no reported injuries.Video from AirTracker7 showed damage to a white patrol vehicle alongside the train tracks.According to the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) , a Thornton Police officer was at the initial shooting scene to secure the perimeter. CSP said the Thornton police truck had its lights activated and the RTD train sustained minor damage. The train was stopped on the tracks and RTD told Luber that shuttle buses were in place to transport passengers. As of 10:50 a.m., RTD said the N Line resumed service, but there may be delay. RTD added that bus service will remain in place to supplement N Line trains.For drivers, Luber said Riverdale Road or Steele Street are two options to avoid the closure.
