A man was arrested Thursday in connection with a double shooting that killed one man and injured another in early August in Trenton, New Jersey, according to Mercer County prosecutors. On Friday, prosecutors announced that 32-year-old Isiah Greene was charged with murder, possession of a weapon f or an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon and certain persons not to possess a weapon in connection with the shooting that killed 32-year-old Jemear Miller on Aug. 2. At approximately 3:37 p.m. on Aug. 2, Trenton police responded to the 300 block of East State Street after receiving reports of a large disturbance and shots fired. Prosecutors said that when officers arrived, they found Miller suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. Miller, who was from Ewing, New Jersey, was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where he died, according to officials. A second victim arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle after he suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, prosecutors said. On Aug. 20, New Jersey State Police conducted a traffic stop on Greene, who was subsequently arrested in connection with the shooting. The investigation is ongoing. On Aug. 7, five days after the shooting, Trenton Mayor W. Reed Gusciora issued an emergency curfew following what he called an increase in violent incidents during the summer months. “In the last few months, multiple acts of violence have been carried out in this area during these late-night weekend hours. This action is a necessary step to help ensure the safety of Trenton residents and protect our community” Gusciora said. The curfew took effect along East State Street between West Canal Street and South Broad Street and is enforced from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. on weekends, beginning Friday nights and ending Monday mornings.
