Train derailment in Mansfield sends 10 railcars off the tracks, shuts down roads

Authorities are at the scene of a train derailment in Mansfield where 10 railcars came off the track Thursday afternoon.
Mansfield Fire Department responded to a train derailment near Seeton Road and South Holland Road around 3 p.m.
The derailment has caused the following traffic and roadw
ay closures:
S. Holland Road is closed to northbound and southbound traffic at Fox Meadows Lane and Eagle Drive.
On the south side of the tracks, the roadway is closed at Britton Road and Cook Street, as well as Britton Road and Lakeview Drive.
Seeton Road is also closed near the back of the U-Haul Storage facility.
Authorities recommend drivers take alternate routes as it is unknown how long the roads will remain closed.
MFD said there was a small grass fire associated with the derailment that has since been extinguished.

No injuries or product leaks have been reported, according to MFD.
Union Pacific’s hazmat team took over the derailment incident as of 5:05 p.m., according to MFD. They plan to clear everything up throughout the night.
