A fatal crash involving a motorcycle was reported Thursday morning on southbound U.S. Highway 101 in East Palo Alto, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash was reported shortly after 6 a.m. on southbound Highway 101 near the University Avenue on-ramp. The two right lanes of the highway reopened around 9:20 a.m. CHP later responded to Sunnyvale in the area surrounding Vargas Elementary School as part of the investigation into the deadly crash on Highway 101. Sunnyvale police helped in the response and helped set up a perimeter in the area. Police said there was no immediate danger to the public while officers investigate.
