A child was hospitalized on Wednesday afternoon after being shot several times in Kensington, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. The shooting happened around 5:46 p.m. on Aug. 19 on the 2900 block of D Street in the Kensington section of Northeast Philadelphia, police said. Whe n officers got to the scene, they said they found a young boy who had been shot multiple times in his lower extremities. Officers took to the child to a nearby hospital where he was placed in stable condition. The Philadelphia Police Department’s Shooting Investigation Group is investigating.
