What about emergencies?
Aug 19, 2026
There have been serious objections raised on many aspects of the 5-acre development project, but none of what I’ve read or heard addresses the safety risks associated with the proposed plan.
This development would significantly increase residential and commercial vehicle traffic, pedestrians
(including children from the daycare center), buses and bicycles, adding to already heavy traffic from the high school and daily commuter usage. All this would guarantee the potential for serious accidents at the intersection.
I’ve not heard any talk about this corner serving as the only route to the hospital from Park City, Deer Valley, Park Meadows and upper S.R. 248. Emergency vehicles would be blocked by traffic clogs.
Furthermore, no one seems concerned about the development’s impact on the main evacuation route from a wildfire in Deer Valley. The bottleneck would cause an escape catastrophe.
These issues are very concerning and any one of them is a good reason to prohibit the proposed development from progressing.
Finally, I thought taxpayer funds were used to purchase this land for public use for the entire community, not a commercial development to benefit the few.
