We are writing to call attention to Washington Middle School (WMS) Principal Michael “Mike” Harano’s unresolved violations of “due process” by the Hawaii Department of Education (DOE). He has yet to receive a formal written notice of why he was placed on Department Directed Leave (DDL) on May 15, prohibiting his return to WMS for the 2026 school year.
